What is 317l stainless steel sheet ?

The SS 317L sheet is a low carbon austenitic grade of stainless steel. The 317L Stainless Steel Sheet is a flat metal grade that is designed in sizes between 0.5mm to 6mm. These sheets are used to add an aesthetical outlook to the grade. The DIN 1.4438 Flat Sheet is thicker than foil and has an outstanding chemical composition. It consists of chromium, nickel, molybdenum, iron, manganese, silicon, phosphorous, carbon, and sulfur.

This allows the ASTM A240 UNS S31703 Strips to have superior resistance in corrosive and oxidative conditions. The strips can be welded without intergranular corrosion as it is susceptible to chromium carbide precipitation. The Stainless Steel 317L Coil is non-magnetic and can be only hardened following a cold working process. It can be cut and sheared following standard procedures.

The SS 317L hot rolled plate is designed with superior chemical properties that allow them to work in harsh environments. These plates have good tolerance to chloride pitting and general corrosion.
