What are ASTM A350 LF2 Flanges?

ASTM A350 LF2 is a standard specification for carbon and low alloy steel forged flanges. The  ASTM A350 LF2 flanges  are designed with a chemical composition of chromium, molybdenum, copper, niobium, vanadium and other constituting alloys. This gives the  ASTM A350 LF2 lap joint flange  good resistance against corrosive and oxidative reducers seen in different conditions.

The  ASTM A350 LF2 Cl1 forged flange  is designed to work in lower temperature service. These flanges have an impact test temperature up to -45 degrees C. An  SA 350 LF2 plate flange  is available in classes 1, 2, and 3. These flanges are designed with sizes of 1/2 to 24 NB. The  SA350 LF2 Cl1 reducing flange  is designed in pressure classes of 150#, 300#, 600#, 900#, 1500#, and 2500#. These flanges have schedules between SCH 10 to SCH 160 and XXS. ASTM A350 LF2 Class 1 vs Class 2

The ASTM A350 LF2 class 1 and 2 are the versatile classes of this grade that can be differentiated on some basic features. The  A350 LF2 Cl1 material  is designed with a tensile strength between 415 to 585mpa. This material has a minimum yield strength of 205mpa. An   A350 Gr LF2 Material  has a tensile strength between 485 to 655mpa and shows a minimum yield strength of 250mpa.

The  ASTM A350 LF2 class 1 flange  has a minimum applicable pressure of -18 degrees C. Similarly, a class 2 flange has a minimum applicable pressure of -46 degrees C. The minimum applicable pressure of the  ASTM A350 Gr LF2 socket weld flange  is also its Charpy impact test temperature.
