Brass JIC Fittings

Brass JIC Fittings

What are Brass JIC Fittings?

JIC or Joint Industry Council fittings are defined by the SAE J514 specifications. These are basically compression fittings which are machines with a flare seating surface of 37 degrees. The Brass JIC Fittings come with parallel threads. The Brass BS – 218 JIC hose fittings are commonly used in hydraulic connections for various fluid power systems. It has both make and female components which have 37 degree seats. They are sealed by making a contact between the male flared and the Red Brass C23000 JIC female fittings. This mechanical connection has three main components in the tubing assembly, namely fittings, flare nuts, and sleeves. The material is quite susceptible to stress cracking and it has high malleability and formability. It also has a high melting point of 900 degrees C and is ferromagnetic in nature. They are tarnish resistant and can be machined easily.

What is UNS C36000 Brass JIC connector?

The UNS C36000 Brass JIC connector material is a free cutting brass alloy which comes with a higher machinability compared to all the other copper alloy types. These are basically flared fittings which are machined with straight threads which use a 37 degree flare seating surface. This is a more effective seal of fitting compared to O-rings or tapered threads.

Difference between Brass JIC swivel and JIC plug

The Brass JIC swivel can rotate pr swivel for eliminating kinking and compression of the pneumatic tubing lines. They can be connected to compatible air hoses for enhancing pneumatic tool usage for maintaining optimal air flow.

The Brass JIC plug is a tool that helps in sealing the pipes temporarily. They are mostly used in pipelines carrying sewage and other liquids. They can also be used in gas transmission lines.
