What is Copper Nickel 70/30 Flange?

A 70/30 copper nickel flange is designed with 70% copper and 30% nickel content.  Copper nickel 70/30 flange  also has small additions of manganese and iron that help to strengthen it. The flanges help in efficiently connecting different piping equipment in the system. The head of the  70/30 copper nickel flanges   acts as a rim or lip. This lip provides support to different equipment while connecting them. The  Cu Ni 70/30 blind flange  has a density of 8.94 g/cm3 with a melting point of 2140°F. The  ASTM B151 UNS C71500   class 150 is a pressure class of the flange. This pressure class is generally designed to hold lower pressure media. As the temperature increases the pressure rating of the  UNS C71500 slip on flange  decreases. Generally, the flange is rated at 270 PSIG under ambient conditions. It decreases to 180 PSIG at approximately 400°F as the temperature rises.

  • A  copper nickel 70/30 weld neck flange  cut method begins by flattening the metal using rollers until it reaches the intended thickness. The flange is then cut into appropriate outside and inner diameters which have no center bore. Bolt holes and serrations are then cut in the  70/30 copper nickel lapped joint flange . These flanges have a lower production cost.
  • A cast  2.0882 cuni lap joint flange  is formed as molten metal is poured into a mould of the desired shape. After the liquid is hardened the mould is opened. The cast  70/30 cupro nickel threaded flange  costs less to produce and is easily machined.
  • In the forging process heat billets and other metal stock are used. The  DIN 2.0882 forged flange   is then compressed using a hammer or die to shape it in a solid state. The process develops a continuous grain flow and has improved strength.
