What is A Threaded Coupling?
A threaded coupling is a short length of a pipe that is used to connect two devices in the piping industry. The pipe coupling joins two pieces of equipment permitting some misalignment to end the movement or both. The robust coupling pipe fitting is easy to install and generally handles lower pressure and temperature media. The fittings are designed in different pressure classes. The class 3000 coupling is the most common pressure class and is very reliable in its operation.
Normally there are carbon or stainless steel couplings. The stainless steel coupling has enhanced corrosion resistance. This coupling covers ASTM 182 grades 304 and 316. The carbon steel coupling has a higher carbon content and strength. They come under the ASTM A105 standard of ASME B16.11. The brass coupling has enhanced strength and is very solid. These couplings help reduce shocks and are very reliable. A Hastelloy coupling has a microstructure of austenitic and ferritic grade that gives it an edge in the industry. A unique copper coupling can be custom designed in a range of sizes and specifications.

What is the difference between half coupling and full coupling?
The full coupling has both ends of threaded connection but the Half coupling is only threaded at one end, and the other end is welded type.

Where to use Copper Threaded Couplings?
A Copper threaded coupling in piping is a very short length of pipe or tube with threads at one or both ends that allows two pipes or tubes to be joined together. A short length of pipe with two female National pipe threads (NPT) or two male or female British standard pipe threads can also be used.
