What are duplex pipe fittings?
Fittings whose microstructure is an equivalent of austenite and ferrite exhibit a duality in their properties. This is why they are referred to as Duplex 2205 Fittings.

Is alloy 2205 buttweld elbow corrosion-resistant?
Compared to the 300 series, Alloy 2205 Buttweld Elbow is resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking and localized corrosion (like pitting and crevice corrosion).
Applications of DSS fittings
Because the alloy has good corrosion resistance properties, Duplex Pipe Fittings are preferred in applications like Chemical process vessels, Food processing equipment, heat exchangers, Flue gas desulfurization equipment, Pulp mill digesters, Oil field piping and heat exchangers.
What are the 2205 duplex fittings advantages and disadvantages?

2205 duplex stainless steel fittings manufacturing process
Fittings are made either seamless or welded. The production of welded fittings involves using metal sheets, cut into the shape of a fitting with the help of a template. After cutting the sheet, the metal is joined together with a weld seam on one side. Seamless fittings tend to have higher strength because they have no seam. Like pipes, some of these fittings may be pushed, bent and expanded simultaneously with the help of a mandrel process.
Is duplex 2205 pipe fittings magnetic?
The microstructure of Duplex 2205 Pipe Fittings is a mix of austenite and ferrite. It contains a higher content of iron as well, making it a ferromagnetic alloy. Hence, the fittings exhibit magnetic properties.
How strong are duplex steel buttweld fittings?
The tensile strength of Duplex grade 2205 is about 621 Mpa.
