Incoloy is superalloy patented by Inco in 1952 and now gets produced by SMC or Special Metals Corporation. Similar to Inconel super alloys, Incoloy with less nickel composition is ideal for fluid environments like acids. It is a ‘C’ category alloy considered accessible to machines. Incoloy alloys in the super austenitic stainless steel category do not need heat treatment after welding for corrosion resistance.
Incoloy 800 pipe made from one superalloy is stable to keep its austenitic structure even with exposure to high temperatures for a long time. It is best for producing high-strength equipment as it has high resistance to oxidation and carburization.
