End caps are generally threaded fittings used to seal off a valve or a piping system. While they help to create permanent endpoints in piping systems, they may be used during the maintenance, cleaning, inspection, and testing of lines.

It is possible to use all hot working processes to shape these fittings. Hot working is carried out between 649°C to 1232°C. Above 871°C, the alloy can be heavily formed. To anneal the material, the temperature range used must be between 704°C to 871°C.
