Working Principle of Sanitary Actuated Ball Valve
When the spherical disc is rotated by 90 degrees, the fluid passes through the port at operational speed. The fluid flow is turned on or stopped when the spherical disc is rotated. The disc rotation is done by the handle (manually) or valve actuators (automatically). How To Install A Sanitary Tri Clamp Ball Valve In A Water Line?
To install a tri-clamp ball valve the following steps must be followed –
Ensure the pipeline and the valve are on the same plane. The flanges that are attached to the pipeline should be parallel t each other. As a pre-preparatory process – one needs to check if the pipeline can bear the weight of the device. If not, then equipment that supports the device needs to be purchased beforehand. Clean the pipeline and purge it of any impurities that may later corrode the device or cause an obstruction.
Check the valve for its movement by turning its handle. This is an important step as the tri-clover ball valve needs to be able to be turned off and on frequently. It has to move freely.
Clean the valve and remove any debris present inside.
The device is usually installed towards the upstream end, while its handle is installed at any position.
Once the actuator has been configured, it is to be installed vertically with its inlet and outlet horizontally.
Between the flange and the sanitary actuated ball valve, a gasket is to be installed. Once the flange is aligned, the bolts are tightened. After the device has been installed fully, it is checked by passing fluid at a required pressure for any leaks.
How To Fix A Leaking Sanitary Pneumatic Ball Valve?
Leakage in valves is mostly due to a tear, accumulation of dirt or obstruction or if the material has been worn out. Usually, when the packing washer is replaced, the leak tends to stop. However, a tear or worn-out valves need to be fixed by replacing them with a new one. To repair a hygienic ball valve one has to shut off the water supply and disassemble the device. This will help to identify the problem area quickly. Once the parts are examined, the part that is worn out is replaced. Similar to its installation process, the valve will once again be checked for leaks.
