These bars are designed with a primary chemical content of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. What are Annealed, Hot-Finished and cold-drawn in SA 479 gr 304 material?

Annealed, Hot-Finished and cold-drawn

A SA 479 gr 304 Bars is usually processed in annealed, hot finished and cold drawn conditions. The robust ASTM A276 Type 304 hot rolled bar is manufactured at high temperatures till it reaches its recrystallization limit. These bars have slightly rounded edges with small distortions. During the annealing process, the AMS 5639 Bar is heated at specific temperatures and later cooled. Annealing helps in softening the metal and improving its ductility while reducing its brittleness.

The 304 Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Bar is processed soon after the hot rolling process at room temperature. These bars have an excellent surface finish and have close tolerances. The SA 479 304 Cold Drawn Round Bar has better strength and enhanced corrosion resistance properties compared to the other two. The ASTM A479 Type 304 Polished Bar is a product of the cold forming process and has a shiny surface finish.
