The stainless steel 321 material can be described as a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel. It has elements like chromium and nickel in its composition to enhance its properties. The Stainless Steel 321 Flanges show good strength and excellent resistance to corrosion. The 321 SS Weld Neck Flange is supplied in the annealed condition and it comes with a typical Brinell hardness of 175. The UNS S32100 SORF Flange shows high resistance to corrosion in the general corrosive environments. The 321 Stainless Steel Flanges can also resist most of the oxidizing agents, sterilizing solutions, organic and inorganic chemicals. The ASTM A182 F321 Flange can effectively withstand nitric acid and to some extent, even sulphuric acid. The Inox 321 WNRF Flange shows a good resistance to oxidation in elevated temperature conditions. The 321 SS Flanges material has high weldability and can resist intergranular corrosion well.

It is to be noted that the SA 182 321 Reducing Flange material cannot be hardened by heat treatment. However, the hardness and strength of the SA 182 Gr F321 Slip On Flange can be substantially increased through cold working. However, the ASTM A182 321 Plate Flange material comes with a low ductility.
The addition of titanium in the chemical composition of the SUS 321 Screwed Flange material has a stabilizing effect. It allows the F321 stainless steel RTJ Flange to be welded easily and can be used within the carbide precipitation range of 430-870 degrees C. This is without the risk of acquiring intergranular corrosion.

The SA 182 F321 Lapped joint Flange material is non-magnetic in the annealed condition. However, after cold working, the ASTM A182 Grade F321 Flange material can become slightly magnetic. Due to all the above properties, the A182 Gr F321 Lap Joint Flange is very high temperature services including heat exchangers, storage tanks, pumps, fittings, etc.
