Duplex stainless steel developed during the 1930s evolved in the 70s to become super duplex steel. The mixed microstructure of ferrite and austenite equivalent combination called duplex with higher chromium, nickel, and molybdenum is super duplex steel.

Super duplex 2507 pipe has 24 -26% chromium, 6 to 8 % nickel, 3-5% molybdenum, and 1.2% manganese to have superior erosion and corrosion resistance. Duplex 2507 pipe fris helpful in many applications in stress-induced environments that require high pitting resistance.
