J Pipe Bend

Pipe fittings are used to connect two pieces of pipes together. Bends are used for a smooth transition of the piping direction and to connect two pipes. The J Pipe Bend is referred to in that name because of its shape. Unlike most bends, this one has unequally sized legs or parts on either side of the bend. The J Bend is used in exhaust parrots mostly. The shorter side is connected to the hotter part of the engine side, and the longer side is connected to the exhaust part in most cases.

If the operation can be stopped, then it is much easier to repair. If the 180 Deg J Pipe Bend is made up of a metal alloy that allows onsite welding, then the repair can be done through welding. The J Shaped Bend can corrode faster than any fittings if it is fitted to an exhaust system because of the rapid heating and cooling of the part. J Short Radius Bending and long radius bending can be installed by bolt and nut, sockets, threads, and welding. The J bend is an extended U bend. The U bends have equally sized legs.
