Welded 45 Deg Bend and other angled bends can have different angles of bending. The angle can be calculated by substituting the correct values with the correct parameter in the following equation. BA = angle × (π/180) × (radius + K-factor × thickness) where BA is the bend allowance. The angle can also be manually measured on the bends.

The exhaust pipes have to undergo high temperatures. So the other types of connections might be weakened with a Welded Exhaust Bend placed at a high-temperature point. Therefore welding is preferred to connect the exhaust bend to the heat source. TID welding and MIG welding are the common methods used. In TIG welding, tungsten inert gas is used.
